NEGAOCTET
Reducing the environmental impact of digital services
A standard to measure the environmental impact of digital services and suggest ways to improve.
The result of 36 months of research work by LCIE Bureau Veritas, APL Data Center, GreenIT.fr and DDemain as part of the Perfecto 2018 call for projects, NegaOctet makes it possible to measure and significantly reduce the environmental impact of digital services over their entire life cycle.
NegaOctet is:
- A methodology for measuring environmental impacts that complies with French and international recommendations.
- A free or paying database.
- A tool that automates the calculation of environmental KPIs (global warming, resource consumption, pollution, etc.).
The NegaOctet repository is continuously enriched and improved (creation of new data and maintenance of the database).
AN OPERATIONAL REPOSITORY
NegaOctet has already proved its worth thanks to its methodological, regulatory and field experience.
NEGAOCTET DATABASE
The database contains 1,500 components and equipment classified according to four levels of granularity. Each piece of equipment is associated with up to 30 impact factors: from depletion of abiotic resources to global warming and eutrophication.
